Hire A Guide

Licenses aren’t required for Montana river guides so make sure you hire experienced guides, like those listed here. Do your research and ask questions about a guide service’s safety track record.

Make sure your guides are aware of floaters in your group that may experience difficulties due to age or physical concerns.

Your guided tour will include life jackets and other various safety equipment. Expect to get wet! Ask your guide to tell you realistically how wet the tour will likely be so you know whether or not to take a waterproof camera.

Take advantage of a guide’s knowledge of the Red Lodge area history, geology, and great local stories.
